Orthotics – Helping You Put Your Best Foot Forward

A common cause of foot, knee, hip or back pain is misalignment in the way your foot makes contact with the ground resulting in it rolling one way or the other which causes a chain reaction up your lower limbs, through your knee, into your hip and on to your lower back. Your body then tries to compensate for the misalignment which often results in various pains; common complaints include plantar fasciitis (often known as ‘Jogger’s Heel’), shin splints, knee pain and lower back pain. If you consider how many times this misaligned action repeats during the course of walking about on a normal day or during exercise, it is little wonder that serious problems can develop over a period of time.

The good news is that a quick, simple and painless solution now exists to correct the problem, called orthotics. Orthotics are custom-fitted insoles for your footwear which correct any misalignment and provide additional support for your foot.

We are delighted to now offer at the Clinic a full orthotics measurement, supply, fitting and adjustment service – this costs £50 for the initial consultation to assess your requirements and £50 for a pair of bespoke fitted insoles.

Unlike basic insoles that you may see in high street stores, the orthotics that we use are customised to your feet and feature different densities to carefully meet the needs of the activity you are performing. These range from everyday walking shoes to all types of sports. We believe that any existing footwear you own which isn’t providing appropriate support for your feet can be successfully corrected through the use of these inserts. Some of our clients who have already used them have experienced dramatic improvement in their mobility and comfort when walking and exercising.
